China News Service – Yiwu Customs released data on the 22nd showing that in the first half of this year, the total import and export value of Yiwu, Zhejiang reached 405.83 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), a year-on-year increase of 25.0%; of which exports were 358.63 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.6%; imports were 47.21 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.3%.
Data shows that in the first half of this year, Yiwu exported 298.40 billion yuan through market procurement trade, a year-on-year increase of 28.2%, accounting for 83.2% of Yiwu’s total export value, and the contribution rate to Yiwu’s exports was 92.6%; through general trade imports and exports, 82.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.9%.
From a regional perspective, in the first half of this year, Yiwu maintained double-digit growth in major trade markets: Yiwu’s imports and exports to Africa, Latin America, ASEAN and the EU were 71.95 billion yuan, 62.17 billion yuan, 47.53 billion yuan and 40.29 billion yuan, respectively, up 24.4%, 15.2%, 43.7% and 21.3% year-on-year; the total imports and exports to countries participating in the construction of the “Belt and Road” were 273.82 billion yuan, up 26.9% year-on-year, accounting for 67.5% of Yiwu’s total imports and exports during the same period.
From the import data, in the first half of this year, Yiwu imported 25.93 billion yuan of consumer goods, up 17.9% year-on-year. Among them, the city imported 4.51 billion yuan of beauty cosmetics and toiletries, up 7.5% year-on-year.
From the export data, in the first half of this year, Yiwu exported 41.15 billion yuan of plastic products, up 25.6% year-on-year; exported 37.70 billion yuan of clothing and clothing accessories, up 29.0% year-on-year. During the same period, Yiwu exported 132.77 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, a year-on-year increase of 23.2%, accounting for 37.0%; among them, 10.1 billion yuan of household appliances were exported, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%; 5.8 billion yuan of auto parts were exported, a year-on-year increase of 60.9%.
