Zhoushan’s GDP growth rate in the first half of the year ranked first in Zhejiang Province

In the first half of this year, Zhoushan City focused on implementing the “985” action plan for modern marine cities, vigorously promoted the “six-pronged” style, and effectively responded to external risks and challenges. The city’s economic operation has been stable and improved. The reporter just learned from the Zhoushan Municipal Bureau of Statistics that according to the unified accounting results of the gross regional product (GDP), the city’s GDP in the first half of the year was 110.91 billion yuan, calculated at constant prices, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%, ranking first in the province.

From the perspective of industry, the added value of the primary industry was 10.83 billion yuan, an increase of 4.0%; the added value of the secondary industry was 48.90 billion yuan, an increase of 6.9%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 51.18 billion yuan, an increase of 7.5%.

Fishery production grew steadily, with a significant boost from offshore fisheries. In the first half of the year, the city’s total output of aquatic products reached 698,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%, an increase of 0.6 percentage points from the first quarter. Among them, the output of offshore fisheries was 340,000 tons, an increase of 9.0%, 1.1 percentage points higher than the first quarter, accounting for 48.7% of the output of aquatic products; domestic fishing output was 297,000 tons, an increase of 0.7%. By product, squid, octopus, hairtail and crab increased by 13.5%, 5.3% and 3.4% respectively.

Industry maintained rapid growth, and key industries had strong momentum. In the first half of the year, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the city increased by 11.5% year-on-year, ranking first in the province, 3.9 percentage points higher than the provincial average. Key industries provided strong support. The added value of power production and supply, shipbuilding and repair, and petrochemical industries increased by 28.7%, 24.0% and 8.2% respectively, which together drove the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the city to increase by 10.8 percentage points. By industry, the added value of manufacturing, equipment manufacturing and high-tech industries in the core industries of the digital economy above designated size increased by 10.7%, 10.6% and 7.2% respectively.

The growth rate of the service industry led the province, and the advantageous industries provided strong support. In the first half of this year, the added value of Zhoushan’s service industry increased by 7.5% year-on-year, ranking first in the province, driving the city’s GDP to grow by 3.4 percentage points. Among them, the growth rates of industries such as “transportation, warehousing and postal services”, “financial industry”, “accommodation and catering industry”, and “metal products, machinery and equipment repair industry” were all faster than the overall growth rate of the service industry, and their contribution rate to the growth of added value of the service industry reached 68.6%. Zhoushan Port completed a container throughput of 2.159 million TEUs, an increase of 30.6%. From January to May, the operating income of service enterprises above designated size (excluding wholesale, retail, accommodation, catering, finance and real estate development) increased by 14.0%.

Investment has made steady progress, and transportation investment has become a new engine of growth. In the first half of the year, the city’s fixed asset investment increased by 7.3% year-on-year, an increase of 2.0 percentage points from the first quarter, and 5.9 percentage points higher than the provincial average. Among them, driven by major projects such as the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway and Highway, and the Liuheng Highway Bridge, transportation investment increased by 19.1% year-on-year, accounting for 22.8% of the city’s fixed asset investment, driving the city’s fixed asset investment to grow by 3.9 percentage points.

Consumption potential has been effectively released, and sales of trade-in products have been booming. In the first half of the year, the city’s total retail sales of consumer goods reached 29.72 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%, an increase of 0.5 percentage points over the first quarter, ranking second in the province. With the help of the trade-in policy and local consumer coupons, the retail sales of new energy vehicles above the limit increased by 61.2%, the retail sales of household appliances and audio-visual equipment increased by 58.8%, and the retail sales of communication equipment increased by 50.9%. The city’s retail sales above the limit through public networks reached 690 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 58.1%.

Residents’ income grew steadily, with rural growth faster than urban growth. In the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income of all residents in Zhoushan was 39,527 yuan, an increase of 5.0% over the same period last year. In terms of urban and rural areas, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 44,849 yuan, an increase of 4.6%; the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 27,638 yuan, an increase of 5.6%.
